If you purchase a small item like a ring, necklace or mini scrubs, shipping is abolutely free! When purchasing 1 scrub, shipping costs $2.50. when purchasing 2+ scrubs, shipping is $5.00. Please contact us if you live outside Australia and we will send you a delivery quote.

NO! All of our products are tested on us! 

 

ARE YOUR PRODUCTS VEGAN? 

Yes! Everything we sell and make is vegan! We are huge animal lovers here at Summer Salt Body and we are vegan too! 

 

ARE YOUR PRODUCTS NATURAL?

Most of our products are 100% Natural. These include our Essential Oil range of Scrubs, Clay Masques and our Eco Friendly Juste Bag. Our Fragrance Oil Scrubs are 95% Natural as we use fragrance oils in these products. Fruity fragrances like Coconut, Pineapple and Watermelon are implossible to create naturally.  

 

DO YOUR PRODUCTS CONTAIN NUTS? 

Yes. All of our products contain Organic Unrefined Virgin Coconut Oil so we must declare that our products contain nuts. This is the only nut product used. 

 

HOW LONG DO YOUR PRODUCTS LAST FOR?

We recommend that you use our products within 6 weeks of opening. All products should be used within 3 months.

 

WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS IN THE SALT SCRUBS?

All of our ingredients are vegan and natural. We use a combination of coffee, sugars, salts, oils, essential oils and sometimes fragrances in our salt scrubs. Do a small patch test if you aren't sure how your skin will react.

 

WHY IS COFFEE GOOD FOR MY SKIN?

Coffee has proven to have wonderful effects on the skin. It contains powerful anti-oxidant agents, protecting the skin against free radicals. Coffee tightens pores and removes dead skin cells, making the skin look younger. It also displays anti-wrinkle properties. Because of all these benefits, coffee has become a common ingredient of numerous luxury beauty products and spa therapies, especially anti-ageing and anti-cellulite ones.

 

WHY IS SALT & SUGAR GOOD FOR MY SKIN?

A salt scrub can offer amazing benefits to dry or aging skin. The salt works as a natural abrasive to remove dead skin, while the oils replenish and moisturise the new skin. Using a salt scrub can help repair damaged skin and rejuvenate new skin. Many scrubs are purely salt. The addition of sugar allows the scrub to be used by people with more sensitive skin types. Sugar is known for its startling effects on ageing skin. Besides, sugar scrubs are one of the most natural products to exfoliate the skin. If you have very sensitive skin we would reccommnd our Coffee Scrub as we have used brown sugar which is much more gentler on sensitive skin types. 

 

WHAT IS COCONUT OIL?

Coconut oil is an edible oil extracted from the kernel or meat of matured coconuts harvested from the coconut palm. It has various applications in food, medicine, and industry.

 

HOW IS COCONUT OIL MADE?

There are two main techniques used to produce coconut oil:

Wet process: The fruit is removed from the husk, moistened with water, and then squeezed to produce a mixture of coconut milk and oil. The oil naturally separates from the milk within 12-24 hours. There are other methods that can be used (such as heating, cooling, or centrifugal force) to expedite the separation. The wet process is often used by those who make coconut oil at home.

Dry process: The coconut kernel is removed, shredded, and dried, after which a press is used to extract the virgin coconut oil.

 

WHAT IS JOJOBA?

Jojoba plants are native to the desert areas of Arizona, California and Mexico but are now also grown in the desert of Australia. Once ripe, the hard seeds drop from the plants and the oil is then cold pressed from the seeds. Jojoba oil is regarded as the oil that most closely resembles human sebum - the skin's natural oil.  Because it's so similar to our skin's natural oil, it is thought that jojoba oil can "trick" the skin into thinking it's producing enough oil, which helps balance oil production. Jojoba oil is rich in natural fats that mimic those in the outer layer of the skin which means it can help the skin retain moisture and healt itself.

 

HOW DO I USE THE SALT SCRUBS?

The best way to use our sea salt scrub is to rub it on your skin while showering while your skin is wet, this will help with the removal of dead skin cells. Simply take a small amount and rub it into the area you want to work on; pay attention to your joint areas such as your elbows and knees or problem areas with scars or skin imperfections. Don't scrub for too long that it hurts, you dont need to exfoliate very much to reap the full benefits.

 

IS A SALT SCRUB SUPPOSED TO REPLACE SOAP? 

No! A salt scrub is used for exfoliation and you must still use soap to clean your skin. Preferably clean your body with soap first then use the salt scrub afterwards because you want to keep the oil and aromatics on your skin. Otherwise you can also use a soap free cleanser to remove any excess oil from your skin. 

 

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF THE SCRUB GETS IN MY EYES? 

If the scrub goes in your eyes wash with water thoroughly. If irritation occurs seek medical advice straight away. 

 

WHEN WILL MY SKIN BECOME SMOOTHER? 

Your skin will become smoother after the very first scrub! After using for a couple of weeks you should see even greater improvements in skin tone.

 

HOW MUCH SCRUB SHOULD I USE EACH WASH AND CAN IT BE USED ON MY FACE? 

Use about a handful of scrub each wash. Make sure you massage the scrub evenly over your entire body. We recommend you only scrub your body but if you are going to use it on your face please be gentle as this skin is much more sensitive. Use a soap free cleanser if you do use this product on your face to remove any excess oil. 

 

HOW MANY TIMES A WEEK SHOULD I SCRUB? 

We recommend to scrub twice a week to keep your skin smooth and soft giving it that shining glow of summer.

 

SHOULD I USE THIS PRODUCT IF I AM PREGNANT?

We would reccommend that you don't use this product while you are pregnant due to the high mineral content in our products. It would be perfect to use after pregnancy as it can help your skin nourish itself. The combintaion of ingredients we have used are also known to help reduce the appearance of strech marks and cellulite. 

 

SHOULD I USE THE SALT SCRUB AFTER SHAVING?

Keep in mind that after shaving, you could have nicks or small cuts on your legs. Using a salt scrub on any area of the body where cuts may be present can be painful. You have heard the expression "adding salt to a wound." The saying means adding salt to any cuts you might have will hurt.

 

SHOULD I USE THE SALT SCRUB BEFORE AND AFTER USING FAKE TAN?

Our scrubs are ideal to use before applying fake tan. The scrub will exfoliate your skin and remove any dirt or grease which will alow your tan to be applied more evenly and it can even help it last longer. When you want to remove your fake tan we reccommend using Summer Salt Body Scrubs to exfoliate away the fake tan without leaving your skin blotchy and discoloured. 

 

WHAT ARE BATH SALTS?

Our bath salts are made up of minerals that include include magnesium, potassium, calcium, bromide, and of course, sodium. These minerals are easily absorbed into your pores and are known to cleanse and purify your skin on a molecular level, improving your skin’s radiance, tone, and texture. Magnesium helps us fight stress and combat fatigue; calcium keeps water retention in check, promotes healthy bones and can help stave off osteoporosis; potassium balances moisture levels in the skin; bromide soothes tired, sore muscles; sodium plays a significant role in managing the balance of lymphatic fluid in our bodies.
